These 50 questions can help you assess your home's security. If you answer "no" to any of these questions, you should consider developing a plan to keep yourself and your family safer.
Personal Safety
1. Do you have an unlisted phone number?
2. If you live alone, do you avoid letting others know that?
3. Do you require that agents identify themselves before entering your home?
4. Do you supervise strangers who you have allowed to enter your home?
5. Do your children know to never allow a stranger to enter your home, and to never go anywhere with a stranger?
6. Do you avoid having personal information like name and address on your keys?
7. Do your children know not to give personal information to strangers, on the phone or in person?
8. Do you use a peephole or security camera to see who is at your door before opening it?
9. Do you insist on contacting references for cleaning staff and babysitters who will be in your home unsupervised?
