Standard monitoring is $9.99 per month for your first year, with free account set-up and programming — then $14.99 + HST per month for a standard system or $16.99 + HST for a VISTA H3. Add-on services — Alarm.com, GSM/cellular communication, camera or video doorbell service — carry additional monthly fees, and we go through every one with you before you sign. Everything is upfront, no hidden agenda: honesty has kept us here for over 25 years, and it's not luck.
Monitoring is paid by pre-authorized monthly payment from your bank account — we set it up with a void cheque when you sign on. We don't invoice monthly or yearly, and we don't charge credit cards. Keeping billing this simple is one of the ways we've kept our rates stable for over 25 years.
Yes. In most cases we can reuse your existing panel, sensors and wiring and simply switch the monitoring to us. The change-over and set-up are free. Send us a photo of your keypad and we'll tell you right away what it is and whether it can be taken over.
We serve Ottawa and the entire surrounding region — Nepean, Kanata, Barrhaven, Orleans, Gloucester and Stittsville, plus Manotick, Richmond, Rockland, Kemptville and the rural communities between Carp, Dunrobin, Navan and Russell. We work in Ontario only and do not service Quebec, including Gatineau.
A live operator at Lanvac, our ULC-listed professional monitoring station, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Operators follow a verification protocol before dispatching police, fire or ambulance to protect you from false-alarm fines.
Not for a new system — modern panels monitor through your home internet, over Wi-Fi or a wired connection. If your internet goes down, the monitoring connection goes down with it; optional cellular backup covers that (a one-time equipment and activation charge plus an additional monthly fee, quoted upfront). And if you have an older system that still reports over a phone line, no problem — we fully support traditional landline monitoring too.
Yes, and it usually saves you money. We add an internet communication module to your existing system — a one-time device charge, with no additional monthly fee for network monitoring — and once it's connected you can cancel the phone line entirely. A little expense upfront for the device, then the monthly phone bill disappears. For most customers, the monitoring fee alone costs less than the phone line was costing them anyway.
We are a First Alert Premier Pro Partner and install Resideo equipment: the First Alert ProSeries all-in-one touchscreen panel for homes, the VISTA H3 panel for larger homes and businesses, and First Alert VX1 video doorbells and CX4 AI cameras, all controlled from the Total Connect 2.0 app.
